Welcome to DotWhat.net, a site dedicated to providing you with detailed information on file extensions. This site is based on a huge database offering file extension information, mainly (but not exclusive to) the Microsoft Windows, MAC OS X and Unix based operating systems.

You may select the first character of the extension from an index, or simply use the search function.

We try to provide as much information as possible for all file extensions, encouraging all visitors to contact us if they have any additional information, or a new extension they would like added to the database. Alternatively, each entry can be edited and visitors have the option of adding a comment, question or tip!

As Dot What!? is a resource site, we regret that we are unable to provide personal support. However, if you have a problem or any further questions we strongly recommend leaving a message by using comment box at the bottom of every page.

By listening to our visitor's feedback, we've designed this site to be as easy to use as possible and to provide the level of detail and information our visitors require. If you have any suggestions or feedback for this site, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Thanks for visiting!
