Open the Quick Search Box. 2. Click Options. 3. Select or deselect the checkbox next to 'Enable Quick Search Box with Hotkey.' You can also enable snippets and select whether to search Desktop, search the Internet, or open programs and files by default. 4. Click Close to apply your changes.For earlier Desktop versions, follow these instructions. Learn more about Desktop's other keyboard shortcuts. 1. Click the Desktop icon in your system tray. 2. Select Preferences or Options. 3. Click the Display tab, and select your settings in the 'Quick Search Box' section. 4. Select or deselect the checkbox next to 'Enable Quick Search Box with Hotkey.' 5. Click Save Preferences to apply the change.The Google buttonIf you want to remove the Google button completely, simply right-click the button and select Exit. Make sure to deselect the 'Yes, start the quick search box when my computer restarts' checkbox if you don't want it to display in the future.
