InsomniaX disables the sleep mode on a Apple Laptop. For 10.5 or Later

Quote
InsomniaX disables the sleep mode on a Apple Laptop allowing you to play music through speakers while it's closed. Also adds the option to enable hibernation mode. We are currently looking for a new icon set for InsomniaX, if anyone can produce a new "lickable" set please contact the help desk

WHAT'S NEW
Version 1.3.5:

    * Now functional in Snow Leopard retail
    * Fixed bug relating to versions of OSX less then 10.6
    * Hibernation has been hidden but not removed please read the readme if you use this feature, bugs have also been fixed in the hibernation for 10.6

REQUIREMENTS
Mac OS X 10.5 or later.

Version:  0.5/1.3.5

Description:
It always has been a missing feature: disabling the sleep mode on a Apple Laptop. Who does not want to use it as a big juke-box or go warwalking. The best looking server ever, especially at about one inch height. This small utility is what you will want, this small utility acts as a wrapper to the Insomnia kernel extension.

History:
InsomniaX was coded as a way to test the use of Insomnia in MultiAlarm, how ever becuase it held more potential in other areas and would allow users to use this handy feature with out buying a program like “Sleepless”

InsomniaX then recieved later updates which enabled a inbuilt “Jiggler” feature along with new icons and cleaner interfaces which included a log viewer to help diagnose the use of Insomnia

InsomniaX is slowly developing into a viable tool as it has completed its task in testing Insmonia but is being kept as a active project to keep as a alterative to “Sleepless”

Download:

    * Macupdate
    * MacGeek
    * Softpedia
    * Version 0.5 (Legacy)

Uninstalling/Repairing InsomniaX
The most common ticket in the help desk regarding issues with InsomniaX or requesting instructions on how to remove InsomniaX, below is a simple step list of what is required to completely wipe out InsomniaX. If any problems exist after removing InsomniaX it should not be related to Insomnia as it works as a passive changing, in other words once its unloaded all changes are moved (Especially after a reboot any trace should be gone)

   1. Reboot the machine
   2. Ensure InsomniaX is not running
   3. Enter in terminal : defaults delete com.semaja2.InsomniaX
   4. Delete ~/Application Support/InsomniaX
   5. Delete /Applications/InsomniaX.app
   6. If reinstalling download latest version from MacUpdate
