Your desktop virtual cat Maukie is the fiercest, cutest cat ever to terrorize your mouse pointer. Move your cursor and Maukie will follow. Scratch her head, and she’ll meow. Rub her tummy, and she’ll purr. All the while, she’s breathing in and out, and watch the tail. She may even try to swat the cursor. The creator of this entertaining feline is unknown.

As of January 2021 the Adobe Flash Plugin is Disabled!!!! But the Ruffle Flash Plugin DOES Work on Some Browsers ...
and the Ruffle Flash Emulator has been installed in the background of this web page so Maukie SHOULD still be (t)here to play with in 2021

Inside Schrodinger's Experimental Box lives the fiercest, cutest cat ever to terrorize your mouse pointer.
Move your cursor and Maukie will follow. Scratch her head, and she’ll meow. Rub her tummy, and she’ll purr.

For the longest time "Maukie" was a file hosted by a popular web site. My personal Thanks to Anneke of the Netherlands: https://web.archive.org/web/20051125233243/http://www.broenink-art.nl/anneke/maukieinfo3.html for finding Maukie and hosting her for SO LONG!

Maukie was so Popular that Everybody (Including Santa .... sorry about that) linked directly to her .... causing an Extreme server load for the hosting site .www.broenink-art.nl .  So, she was removed from Cyberspace ...

But she's available once again! SunDrop Crystal - has made Available instructions for DOWNLOADING Maukie to your Computer!

About Maukie

Maukie is back in cyberspace! It was down because of too much traffic. That means too many people linking to Maukie. If this doesn't change, I'm afraid I'll have to take the Maukie pages down for all time. Please read the note below.    Thank you!    Anneke

There are a lot of questions about Maukie.  Some of the answers are here.
First we need to tell you that  WE DID NOT CREATE MAUKIE!   We don't know who did!

Q: Can I use Maukie on my own website?
A: Yes you can, we did too! But remember you can't ask anyone for permission, because it's unknown who the creator of Maukie is. So if one day the owner walks in, and claims the copyright on the cat, it's possible you'll have to take it down.

Q: Why can my friend see Maukie on her computer, and I can't? We both use PC's with Internet Explorer.
A: It's very likely that your friend installed the Macromedia Flash Player on her computer and you haven't. You can download  Macromedia Flash Player  here for free.

Q: How is it I can still play with Maukie on this page even though the Flash Plugin is long dead?
A: This is because some of the "Flash" animations (ActionScript 1) are now supported by the Ruffle Flash Player embedded on this page. If your Browser supports WebAssembly: Maukie should just "Show Up" on this Page.

Q: I am so fond of Maukie. Do you have any more art like Maukie?
A: We are sorry to say, but no we haven't. Of course you can  Search Duckduckgo for more Flash Artwork.

Q: What does Maukie's name tag say?
A: Here is an enlargement of the tag.

There used to be a website with this name (wotch.com).
(Some think Wotch may have been the creator(s) of Maukie.)

Q: Who is Anneke?
A: Anneke is a very talented artist with a website who happened to find Maukie and put her on the website. Maukie became so popular that Anneke made several pages of information to help people all over the world with their questions about Maukie. We are extremely grateful to Anneke for all of her hard work and research! She has given Maukie a good home. Here is a link that will tell you more about Anneke. https://web.archive.org/web/20030108172826/http://www.broenink-art.nl/anneke/menu.html
