Surprise Bummies2010-2011, Freshman, GameThe planet earth is enslaved by alien invaders known as the Bummies. The main character managed to escape their clutches but the main character's father failed to escape with him. Wanting to save his father and everyone else, and with his previous background knowledge as a research scientist, he discovered the bummies' weakness: their insatiable desire to eat Easter eggs. Thus, devising a plan to lure the bummies with the eggs he created to destroy them. A feast of eggs was the first step of his plan to test the eggs. Next he will move on to a military camp to perform further testing on more powerful versions of the bummies. And the final battle will be at the slave camp to save his father and the human race. The game is played by shifting eggs around in a game grid where the player has to group the eggs into groups of at least 3 of the same colored eggs as the eggs aren't stable enough to be fired on their own. If the player attempts to shoot an ungrouped egg, the egg will simply be destroyed and another egg will appear somewhere else on the grid. When a group is made and fired, their position on the grid determines the direction the eggs will shoot at. Eggs on the left half of the grid will shoot to the left and the eggs on the right will shoot to the right. There are three different eggs available for the player to use. Yellow eggs deal direct damage to the bummies, green eggs damages the bummies over time, and blue eggs freeze the bummies but deal no damage. There are three levels in the game where the first level has the only Punyos which die in one hit and items are not introduced to the player yet. The player's goal is to collect red power eggs by killing bummies and to advance to the next level. The second level will introduce 3 obstacles on the grid and the use of items such as the Dynamo and the Waller and the Amatuero that the player has to fight against. The obstacles are walls inside the grid which blocks the player from moving the eggs easily. Dynamos are bombs that can be used to blast bummies in an area of effect which instantly kills them while the waller is used to repair walls that are damaged by the bummies - but if the wall is destroyed, the wall is done for. The Amatuero is slightly tougher than the Punyos as they wear armor but they move slower because of it. The third level will have even more obstructions and the giganco will be introduced. This giganco will pose the greatest threat as it is the toughest bummy and moves at the same speed as the Punyo and are able to take 3 hits before dying. There is also an infinite mode where players can compete for a high score by surviving as long as possible and score extra points for killing bummies. Collecting power eggs in this mode will allow the player to use a superbomb which can wipe out all the bummies on the screen by pressing the spacebar key after getting 3 power eggs.Tham Kiat Hoe Timothy - Lead ProgrammerChen Qisheng Andy Setiawan - Programmer, Sound EngineerLim Hui Min Raina - Game Designer and Artist
