Signature995: Secure PDF Documents Made Easy for Windows Systems

Quote
Signature995 uses native PDF encryption, offering a high level of protection for all your Internet communications, including legal documents and financial transactions. Signature995 employs Microsoft digital certificate technologies to create and validate digital signatures. It is both powerful and easy to use. Signature995 supports PDF documents (*.pdf), Microsoft Office documents (*.doc, *.xls, *.ppt) and Zip archives (*.zip) and UltraPdf documents (*.updf).

Unlike other PDF solutions, Signature995 is free to both the sender and the recipient.

It features:

Encryption
Generates a key from your password to encrypt PDF documents (*.pdf), Microsoft Office documents (*.doc, *.xls, *.ppt) and Zip archives (*.zip). The encrypted file is placed in the same folder as the original document. It has the double file extension '.encrypt.995.'

Decryption
Decrypts PDF documents, Microsoft Office documents and Zip Archives encrypted with Signature995 if the correct password is supplied. The unencrypted document is placed in the same folder as the encrypted file. It has the additional file extension 'pdf', 'doc', 'xls', 'ppt' or 'zip.'

Sign
Uses your digital certificate to sign a PDF document, Office Document or Zip Archive. If "SecureSign" is checked, the signed document will also be encrypted. The signed file is placed in the same folder as the original document. It has the double extension 'signed.995' or 'securesigned.995.'

Co-sign
Uses your digital certificate to add a signature to a signed or SecureSigned (requires the document's password) document.

Verify
Verifies signatures and displays the Certificates of a signed or SecureSigned (requires the document's password) document.

Using Signature995 on Citrix Server
Signature995 may be offered to Citrix/Terminal Server users by adding User Mode=1to the Parameters section of ..pdf995\res\pdf995.ini

The free version of Signature995 will display a sponsor page in your web browser each time you run it. If you would prefer not to see sponsor pages, you may download a license key for $9.95. Send questions and comments to support@software995.com.

Digital Certificates:
Signature995 creates an unauthenticated digital certificate the first time it is run. You can learn more about digital certificates as follows: In Microsoft Outlook Express select Tools->Options->Security. You can obtain a free authenticated certificate by clicking "Get Digital ID's."

If you receive an unauthenticated digital certificate in a signed document but you trust the sender, you should install it in the Trusted Root Certification Authorities Store by clicking the "Install Certificate..." button when the Certificate is displayed.

Signature995 Requirements:
In order to encrypt and decrypt documents with Signature995 you will need Internet Explorer 6.0 or later. Older systems may alternatively install the Microsoft Internet Explorer High Encryption Pack.
