Post by: Software Santa on December 07, 2009, 08:48:13 PM
XAMPP is a cross-platform, completely free, easy to install Apache distribution containing MariaDB, PHP, and Perl.

You should try MAMP (http://softwaresanta.com/sssmf/index.php/topic,2774.msg2813.html#msg2813) first ....

You Install this on your local computer to allow you to develop or install and run web applications (With PHP or
Perl while allowing use of MySQL databases). If you don't develop web applications: you can STILL Install useful things like Kimai (http://softwaresanta.com/sssmf/index.php/topic,4087.0.html) to your local system (or LAN) and access them with your choice of BROWSER.
