AssaultCube, formerly ActionCube, is a free first-person-shooter based on the game Cube (http://softwaresanta.com/sssmf/index.php/topic,580.0.html). Taking place in realistic environments, with fast, arcade gameplay, it's addictive and fun!
With efficient bandwidth usage, it's low-latency and can even run over a 56Kbps connection.
It's tiny too, weighing in at a lightweight 40 MB package available for Windows, Mac and Linux.
On the correct settings, it can even run on old hardware (Pentium III and above).

If you are upgrading AssaultCube from a previous version, please make sure you've either deleted all previous files, or install the new version in a different directory.
If after installing, you find you are getting a lot of error messages, try typing the command "/resetcfg 1" and then restart AssaultCube.

Linux users should take special note that they will need these additional libraries installed:
* SDL 1.2
* SDL_image 1.2
* OpenAL Soft
* SDL_ttf 2.0
If you're on a Debian or Ubuntu based system, you can run this command in a terminal to install these libraries:
sudo apt-get install libsdl1.2 libsdl-image1.2 libopenal1 libsdl-ttf2.0-0
