About AEF
AEF has its root in hacking. It all started when the founder i.e. Pulkit Gupta got interested in hacking. He was an amateur and knew nothing about it. So to learn he had to read posts made on various forums and he also started posting on forums. His interest shifted from doing kiddie tricks on Windows to finding known vulnerabilities in Forum Softwares to exploit them on big boards.

After that he simply thought of making a Forum Software all by himself. He wrote the first lines of code on Jan 23rd, 2006. It was code named as EFP - Electron Forum Project. He was knew to all this and what seemed like a simple task in the beginning turned out to be a mammoth one. He continued to code for the next Ten days. But he gave it all up as it was too much of work for him.

After two months a friend of his got interested in the EFP Project. This guy was electron and he took over EFP and started to code the whole forum software. Pulkit also joined in and helped little bit in coding. But the main coding was done by Electron.

The duo decided to change the name from EFP - Electron Forum Project to AEF - Advanced Electron Forum. When the coding was almost complete Pulkit took over the task of designing AEF in some really cool board. He used a lot of JavaScripting to make the board easy to use.

Electron and Pulkit were successful and AEF went public on 5th of May, 2007. Ever since then great Developer and Themers like Bug, Jim Haslip, Lewtheo joined in and gave AEF the look and feel it has today.

Our Mission is, " To help promote communication within online communities by offering a simplified yet innovative, swift, server-friendly forum software platform."
