BlogBridge is for true info-junkies who want a better way to wrangle all their RSS feeds from blogs and news into one pretty cool organizer.

BlogBridge is no longer available. Goodbye.

After a glorious run of almost 10 years, regretfully, BlogBridge is no longer available as a supported product. While it still has innovations that have not been copied in newer products, the fact is that the interest in dedicated rss readers has passed and it does not make commercial sense to continue. Actually, it hasn't made commercial sense for several years, but I am sentimental about it!

Frequently Asked Questions about BlogBridge

Do I have to stop using BlogBridge?
No you may continue using it as long as you want, for free. However it will no longer be supported. We rather not receive emails requesting for help with it because there will be little we will be able to do to help you.

Can I still download the program?
Yes you can, although it may not work as expected. We make no promises. Your mileage will vary. Etc. Etc. Mac Download, Windoze Download, Linux Download.

What happens now that the service is shut down?
You will no longer be able to "sync" and all accounts will devolve down to 'free' status. Otherwise you should be able to continue using BlogBridge on any of your computers, forever.

What about my data?
After a reasonable period, all your data that might be stored on our servers will be deleted, including your account information, passwords and so on. We've never had access to your financial data (e.g. credit cards.) That has always and only been stored with Paypal and will be subject to their standard excellent policies.

What is going to happen to the code?
The code is and remains Open Source. While we are no longer working on it, all of it is still available to you if you are so inclined. You can find all of it in public repositories on Github. Here are the relevant urls: BlogBridge Core, BlogBridge Utilities, BlogBridge Server Admin console, BlogBridge Feed Library Manager, and the BlogBridge Service itself.

Wait, what is each of those bits?

BlogBridge Core: the blogbridge client. This is written all in Java with I think only one platform specific utility. The promise of "write once run anywhere" lives!
BlogBridge Utilities: A set of Java common code between BlogBridge core and the other bits
BlogBridge Server Admin console: A Ruby on Rails program to administer the server
BlogBridge Feed Library Manager: The PHP program that manages the Feed Library product
BlogBridge Service itself: The code that runs the BlogBridge server, also written in Java

I would like to work on the code. How can I?
You are welcome to access the source code (see previous) and modify it and use it for your own purposes. I would ask for appropriate attribution and respecting the license terms.

I would like to take over BlogBridge as the maintainer. Can I?

Thank you to all of you who supported this project over the years. Those of you who developed it, who promoted it, who applauded it, and most importantly helped pay for it. It was a labor of love from the start and wouldn't have seen the light of day without all of you![/quote]
