My Thanks to him and his staff!Pawn is a freeware chess program for Windows
Since there are many good chess programs available for the PC, Pawn was designed to be a light program especially for beginners.
There are three versions available, although all have the same chess engine. Version 2 has a graphical chessboard and more functionality but in versions 1 and 3 the window is resizable.
The strength of the program should be sufficient for most players. If you are an experienced player who seeks a challenge, you might want to have a look at the Links section for some stronger programs.
Most beginners get frustrated right from the beginning if they can't win a game every now and then. That's why the adjustable beginner's mode was implemented which lets the computer make mistakes.
The functionality of Pawn cannot compete with Chess Master & Co. but most players should get along with the provided features.
If you have a wishlist or want to report a bug, please send a mail so that I can improve the program for future releases.
Have fun trying to beat the program and don't forget to play against some real persons from time to time.
