ProjectLibre is the open source replacement of Microsoft Project and the successor to OpenProj!

ProjectLibre: the open source replacement of Microsoft Project

Welcome to the ProjectLibre community.  ProjectLibre was just voted open source 'Project of the Month' in our first month!!!!!  Thank you to the community,  it is important as we are looking to grow the usage of our open source replacement of Microsoft Project with a vibrant international community.  You can join the community today! The ProjectLibre team were the founders and developers of open source software downloaded more than 4 million times around the world. ProjectLibre is a major open source addition as the leading alternative to Microsoft Project.  We have released the beta and it was downloaded the first few days in 134 countries Download Now!!!!

The ProjectLibre team has a tremendous focus and passion for project management software.  The team has lead many of the industries innovations dating from mainframe project software to releasing the first web-based project management software.  ProjectLibre's open source solution will accelerate deployments of project management software worldwide.  ProjectLibre beta is a major improvement including:

       -   Compatibility with Microsoft Project 2010

       -   New Ribbon User Interface

       -   Printing feature (wow, how was that not available)

       -   Major bug fixes & more

It took a lot of work over many years but will be a significant alternative to Microsoft Project!

Our initial goal with ProjectLibre was to launch the ProjectLibre Project Server to produce a complementary server side solution that would replace Microsoft Project Server.  We started down this road, but it was apparent the lack of a valid desktop alternative to Microsoft Project would be an issue for our ultimate mission.  Our first step clearly was providing ProjectLibre on the desktop.  We will release ProjectLibre Server as our second release. We want to build a large community and are pursuing this full time. We'll figure a way to put our kids through college somehow!  We do appreciate  contributions and the opportunity for customization, implementation and training  :-)  There are enormous benefits in replacing Microsoft's proprietary project solutions with ProjectLibre's open source alternative!  Once again, it is released in beta and was downloaded the first two weeks in 134 countries.  You can download it free!

What an advantage!  ProjectLibre and the ProjectLibre Project Server can be extended as you/we have access to the source code for integration and customization.  There are no more license fees (toll charges) for Microsoft Project Server, Microsoft Server, CALS, SQLServer and other proprietary licenses.  The ProjectLibre team and community is there to help you succeed!  We do provide enterprise support, training, consulting, installation and integration for your deployments of ProjectLibre and the ProjectLibre Project Server.  We look forward to your success using ProjectLibre!
