WDents is a database application for public health sector dentists and bucodental health epidemiologists

WDents 2.4

This program was initially designed to be applied by the Programa d'Atenció Bucodental (Oral Health Program) of the Servei Català de la Salut (Catalan Health Service) of the Generalitat de Catalunya(Government of Catalonia, Spain). It was initially used by the Àrea Bàsica de Salut (Primary Health Center) of La Bisbal d'Empordà in 1996. Now, it is used by all dentists of our entity (Serveis de Salut Integrats del Baix Empordà: a Primary Health Care Provider).

Now, it also includes the possibility to make wide epidemic studies and the visit of patient with affectation of the temporomandibular joint (TMJ).

Data edition moduleThe base table contains:
The patient's identifiers (IdAN: alphanumeric code, we have left 8 spaces that can contain letters and it can be with a specific format and IdN: numeric, long, they can be used simultaneously or an anyone of both).
Surname and Name, all in uppercase or with lowercase and accents, as it is chosen.
Birth date, with the automatic age calculation.
Geographical environments (2), they can be configured and independent, it allows to make populational studies.
Record types, in principle must be active, if you consider that some of their patients won't possibly return, you can pass it to passive.
Telephone, if you need to call a patient without must consulting any other database.
St_Selected, to make specific recounts that you believe opportune.
There are the detail tables:
chr_prob: Chronic problems of health, from the list of the International Classification of Diseases (ICD); and update problems date.
pat_sch: it contains the beginning year, the school name, course and classroom.
pregnancy: if it is the first gravidity, the last menstruation date, with the automatic calculation of the probable childbirth date.
tmj_vis: visits for the temporomandibular joint problem, it contains:
The visit date.
The age.
The professional that makes the visit (that is identified with their initials and that they are at the same time the access key to the program).
The anamnesis relating data:
Family antecedents, personal antecedents (of blockades, rheumatic illnesses), dysfunctions of anxiety and depression.
Parafunctions, exciting ingest.
Symptoms (pain, functional limitation and noises).
The relating data to the exploration:
Pain (on the joint, on the contraresistance and on the handling).
Joint noises (opening, closing, crepitation, popping).
Occlusion (according to the axes, discrepancy, interferences, planes and curves) and secondary dental affectations.
Other (asymmetries, hypertrophies, etc).
The treatment relating data:
1 annotations field and 1 if patient as being cured.
1 extra visit field, totally configurable if is necessary.
tmj_xr and tmj_nmr corresponding to the results from the TMJ x-rays and the TMJ resonance respectively.
visits: this it is the most important, it contains:
The visit date.
The age and the gestational age from the pregnant patients.
The professional that makes the visit (that is identified with their initials and that they are at the same time the access key to the program).
The visit type: school, programmed and to demand.
The anamnesis relating data: brushing, fluorine to the school, sugars ingest.
The exploration relating data:
code and malocclusion risk, mouth breathe, suck thumb,
piercing presence,
oral hygiene state,
gingivitis, paraodontal diseases, CPITN 1-6, and their risk,
DMFT, deft, DMFS, defs indexes; with the separate and total recount, by teeth and surfaces, assignment of caries risk and high caries risk, DMFM (also named DMFM6, = CAO from 16, 26, 36 and 46), fluorosis presence, number of teeth with amelogenesis or broken, invented indexes of the biggest affectation for some of the faces of the tooth cervical (or radicular) part,
to seal, to fluorize, and observations free text
The relating data to the treatment:
hygiene education, does information have more than enough malocclusions, extractions for mobility and for decay, cures to temporary pieces (and even to permanent).
Many of the indexes data of the treatments data are obtained from a odontogram, in what it can be identified until the faces, you can copy the previous odontogram. It allows to assign for each tooth: bleeding, visible furca, made endodontia or to make, presence of mobility. You can change the measure of the odontogram to help the clicking according to the screen resolution.
2 extra visit fields, totally customizable as it is necessary.

You can set queries easily (without using the SQL module, below explained) starting from the filters for each one of the detail tables and the base one. There is also a filter system, that has been saved and loaded, the possibility of parameters input has been added for conditions.Reports moduleFor the parents or tutors, individualized for each scholar in function of the exams. With possibility of modification of the predesigned contains, in a limited way (for paragraphs: dialectal or idiomatic adaptations, monolingual or bilingual report, and small modifications).
From teeth and from surfaces, dedicated to careful populational studies, are a way to know the teeth and surfaces affected.
Of the agreement audit among the odontogram input values by the expert and the examined examiners.
They can be printed from the same program, or exported the reports to rtf format and be able to be edited by anyone edition program.
Independent of the same module, possibility to execute a school or TMJ visits reports.Queries moduleTo make queries using the SQL (Structured Query Language) with all a followed by facilities (to save and to load the queries code, presentation of the fields from each one of the habitual tables, helps, etc.). In the SQL: the possibility of parameters input has been added for conditions.
To visualize or to edit the data of a table directly, or to see their properties.
To make reports from the executed queries of many different forms: suppressing some column, modifying the presentation format of the numbers, holding, columns, etc. These reports can be printed, saved, loaded or exported to rtf format.
To export tables to format dBase, defined of text, to Excel. These last two with multiple configurations.
To obtain basic descriptive statistical data from a quantitative variable (mean, standard deviation, percentils, etc.) or qualitative (percentage and sum) from a chosen column.
To see the results in graphics. The graphics can be in 2D or 3D (with perspective modification, rotation, etc.; in real time and only dragging the mouse), with a great variety of types (bars, pie, etc.; up to 44 main types, and some up to 12 secondary types), with the possibility to export of the graph to Metafile or Bitmap, being able to save them, to load them and to copy them to other applications (this way, a graph can reedit, for example, with Corel or Gimp), impression facilities, etc. You can also introduce the values directly.
There are near 120 you already queries designed, some 30 of those which are for language learning.OthersAccess level to the program: administrator and normal (with limitation of functions: records deleting; access to queries edition, reference tables and filters).
It is presented with three databases: for proofs (named proof_teeth), for uses (emptied, named teeth) and for agreement audit (named audit_teeth).

To the being in open code: it can be modified to be adapted to each Health Center, to correct it, to improve it or to take advantage of a part, always according to the GNU General Public License.
