Our Vision:
An ethical marketplace where buyers and sellers can trust each other.

Our Mission:
BBB’s mission is to be the leader in advancing marketplace trust. BBB accomplishes this mission by:

Creating a community of trustworthy businesses
    Setting standards for marketplace trust
    Encouraging and supporting best practices
    Celebrating marketplace role models, and;
    Denouncing substandard marketplace behavior

BBB sees trust as a function of two primary factors – integrity and performance. Integrity includes respect, ethics and intent. Performance speaks to a business’s track record of delivering results in accordance with BBB standards and/or addressing customer concerns in a timely, satisfactory manner.

BBB ensures that high standards for trust are set and maintained. We exist so consumers and businesses alike have an unbiased source to guide them on matters of trust. We provide educational information and expert advice that is free of charge and easily accessible.

BBB Accreditation is an honor – and not every business is eligible. Businesses that meet our high standards are invited to seek BBB accreditation.  Businesses deemed to meet Accreditation Standards are presented to the BBB's Board (or designees) for review and acceptance as a BBB Accredited Business. .

All BBB accredited businesses have agreed to live up to our Standards for Trust,   a comprehensive set of best practices for how businesses should treat the public in a fair and honest manner. To review our Standards for Trust, click here

BBB does not compare businesses against each other but rather evaluates businesses against our standards – and our standards clearly speak to the character and competence of an organization.BBB is the resource to turn to for objective, unbiased information on businesses. Our network of BBBs allows us to monitor and take action on thousands of business issues affecting consumers at any given time.BBB is your key adviser, most reliable evaluator and most objective expert on the topic of trust in the marketplace.

CBBB is the network hub for BBBs in the US and Canada.  Like  BBBs, CBBB is dedicated to fostering honest and responsive relationships between businesses and consumers, instilling consumer confidence and contributing to a trustworthy marketplace for all.

CBBB, a nonprofit organization, has a mutually-supportive relationship with:

National Partners

- approximately 200 organizations that are leaders in their industries and share in a commitment to corporate responsibility and the ideals of the BBB.

BBBs

- 112 independent organizations across North America that serve accredited BBB businesses and consumers in their local communities.

CBBB is one of the nation's recognized leaders in developing and administering self-regulation programs for the business community, and, with respect to the advertising industry, does that in conjunction with the National Advertising Review Council, a joint venture with the Association of National Advertisers, the American Association of Advertising Agencies, the American Advertising Federation, the Direct Marketing Association, the Electronic Retailing Association and the Interactive Advertising Bureau.

As new challenges to marketplace trust surface, CBBB and its national initiatives and ongoing programs are more relevant than ever.

As you may know, your BBB is a not-for-profit organization that receives no government funding.  Most of the BBB’s support comes from our Accredited Business members, but it is not enough to do the job we want to for consumers.  In addition to helping resolve complaints as we did for you, we also provide information on the reliability of over 95,000 companies and charities in our area.

Please consider making a donation to the BBB to help us serve you and others in the future.  Even a small amount can help us a lot.  If you would like to make a donation, please send a check to:

Donations are not tax deductible.  They are completely voluntary.  If you have asked us to continue working on your case, we will do so whether you make a donation or not.

(In Jan. 2015 Software Santa needed the help of the BBB himself. His dumb bank had a technical problem with their web site preventing him (and many others) from logging in - and the ONLY way you can bring technical problems with their web site to that bank's attention is to file a notice/request/complaint with their customer service department THROUGH the contact form in your Online Customer Account! The obvious flaws in this method are lost on these people ... ONLY a 3rd party organization WITH TEETH could make them respond in any way besides "Not my Problem." The BBB made them pay enough attention to Software Santa to cause them to fix the serious error in their PHP coding that he had discovered - and that he could NOT tell them about!!!! Problem RESOLVED: Thanks to the BBB. Thank you BBB!)
