Toy Cars is a cross platform physics based top down 2-D racer.

Note: The Current Mac OS X version of this game does not work on Mavericks (Mac OS X 10.9.4) - possibly does not work on Systems after Mac OS X 10.6.8

Toy Cars is a free, open source car racing game. Graphics are OpenGL rendered, two dimensional, top down view. The physics engine is very stable and detailed. Tire contact forces are modelled with Pacejka formulae. Tracks and vehicles can be customised with the editors provided. The game has been released on Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux. Most of the game is coded in C++ from the ground up.

The concept is based on the classic computer games “Jupiter’s Megadrive” for Atari ST and “Micromachines” for Super Nintendo.
