OpenDungeons is an open source, real time strategy game sharing game elements with the Dungeon Keeper series and Evil Genius. Players build an underground dungeon which is inhabited by creatures. Players fight each other for control of the underground by indirectly commanding their creatures, directly casting spells in combat, and luring enemies into sinister traps.
A bit of background...
The Keepers
You are incarnating a lord of the deeps, hellbent on conquering, defiling and destroying any lands that your filthy hands can reach, a healthy combination of twisted, demented, screaming, deranged monsters (and passive-agressive kobold workers) will aid you in your little hobby; but not all is fun and games, the pesky humans refuse to die in a spittle and donate their lands and hard-hearned riches to the most noble of causes, that is, you.
But, if having bands of armor clad self-righteous bastards roaming your underground realm isnt annoying enought, others had the same idea as you (or were there before, not like you care); its your duty to the comunity to show them how wrong they are, by putting their souls in the deepest fiery pit of eternal pain and agony you can find in your dungeon.
You should be able to accomplish all of this, of course, but only if you are able to withstand the constant bitching of your creatures asking for food because they are starving, or they don't like sleeping on the cold slimy floors or their demands of fair wages and gender equality. Only the Dark Gods knows you only keep them because you need cannonfodder to die for you. But hey, we have got punch and cake, its made of poisonus mushrooms and fat plumbers guts, delicious!!
But alas, beware, the Light Gods and their feathered servants dont like you messing with their favourite human-playthings…
Human heroes
As a noble master of your people, you can let the unholy claim your territory and shall put an end to this minor and unelegant threat on your land. Despite the loathing of getting on your enemy's dark underground burrow, digging through the dirt to uncover his obnoxious hole and put those weaklings to the holy torch, you shall bring divine punishment to those evil things whatever the cost of your servant's lives. Go forward my noble friend, your vassals are in need of your high and, I shall even say, so humble wisdom...
Game objectives

Open Dungeons is an open source, real time strategy game sharing game elements with the Dungeon Keeper series and Evil Genius. Players will build an underground dungeon which is inhabited by creatures or human heroes, care for them and fight others for control of the underground by indirectly commanding them, directly casting spells in combat, and luring enemies into traps.
Your main concern when starting a map is digging your dungeon outline, digging for gold, capturing a creature portal and building the rooms needed to attract minions to aid you in your cause. After that, you need to keep expanding and train your creatures to face the many perils of the undergrounds composed by feral beasts, other Deep Lords and other pesky humans from the surface.
The missions goals will vary but killing all of your enemies is the most common objective.
