SpaceEye has live satellite imagery for your Mac or Windows desktop background

(1/1)

Software Santa:
SpaceEye has live, publicly available satellite imagery for your Mac or Windows desktop background.

The Mac Version from the Apple APP Store doesn't work on older OSes like 10.11 or 10.13 - but the Latest Release from Github works FINE with them!

Your desktop background updates throughout the day
New images are downloaded every 10 minutes to 1 hour (depending on the image size), giving an up-to-date view of the Earth on your desktop.

12 views from 5 satellites
There are currently 12 views from 5 different weather satellites: Himawari-8, GOES-17 (West), GOES-16 (East), Meteosat-8, and Meteosat-11.

High resolution imagery
Satellite views can be downloaded in up to 8K resolution (if supported by the monitor and satellite view) for crystal clear background pictures of the Earth.

Cross-platform
Can be installed on both macOS and Windows.

Free and open source
