About Annenberg Learner

As part of its mission to advance excellent teaching in American schools, Annenberg Learner funds and distributes educational video programs – with coordinated online and print materials – for the professional development of K-12 teachers. Many programs are also intended for students in the classroom and viewers at home, with videos that exemplify excellent teaching. Annenberg Learner also partners with impactful organizations to provide other means of achieving this goal. As part of the Annenberg Foundation, Learner supports the Foundation’s mission to encourage the development of more effective ways to share ideas and knowledge.

K-12 educators, students, and lifelong learners may access Annenberg Learner resources for free at Learner.org. Colleges and universities must purchase a license to use Learner materials in their courses. Please note: Some rights restrictions might limit the availability of some series for this purpose. Please sign up for the Annenberg Learner newsletter for the latest information about Learner programming and availability, as they are subject to change.

The Series Earth Revealed is still playing: https://www.learner.org/series/earth-revealed/ as are many more!

Current Partnerships & Programs

In addition to providing free educational and professional development resources for K-12 educators and students through our website, Annenberg Learner also supports mission-aligned partners and programs. Please view the list of current partnerships and programs below for more information.

Annenberg Learner, Discovery Education, and LAUSD
All LAUSD teachers and students now have free access to the award-winning Discovery Education Experience platform, which will incorporate selections from Learner’s vast array of engaging educational content. These combined resources will assist educators in instructing students in any learning environment, helping them to have an equitable opportunity to continue their education during the pandemic.

Project Playbook: Educator Edition
Annenberg Learner is providing free access to hands-on science, arts, and tech resources from Two Bit Circus Foundation that focus specifically on STEAM learning. Explore over 150 of Two Bit Circus’ projects through our Project Playbook page.

Civics Renewal Network
The Civics Renewal Network is a consortium of nonpartisan, nonprofit organizations, including Annenberg Learner, committed to strengthening civic life in the U.S. by increasing the quality of civics education in our nation’s schools and by improving accessibility to high-quality, no-cost learning materials.

Step Up Tutoring
Annenberg Learner supports Step Up Tutoring by recruiting volunteer tutors for free one-on-one online tutoring to support students from underserved communities. 3rd to 6th-grade LAUSD students receive guidance and mentorship in hour-long sessions twice a week.

USC Education (Re)Open
Annenberg Learner joins The Education (Re)Open supporting students, teachers, parents, and school administrators with crowdsourced solutions to educational challenges due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The collaboration resulted in the Education Solutions Exchange, a public repository of ideas that address numerous academics challenges facing public schools.

CAA Ready Set Campaign
The CAA Foundation, with the support of Annenberg Learner, launched the Ready Set Campaign, a nationwide tutor, mentor, and service recruitment campaign. A coalition of private and non-profit partners is working to increase volunteer engagement by making it easy to support students who have suffered learning and relational losses due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
