On my Ubuntu 20.04 virtual machine I was able to open the terminal and type "sudo apt -y install pysolfc" and then my password ... and it installed version 2.6.x, which is quite recent, and which worked well by typing "pysolfc" at the terminal command line. (Can be added to the Favorites so it Stays in the Dash and can be launched with a single click.)
